Hi,
My name is Dr. Abe Stanley and as long as I remember, I’ve been a book lover. I remember the first book, which was a gift from my brother and I also remember clearly that I didn’t stop reading it until I finished it.
My favorite place when I was in grade school was library even during vacations. I went there, pulled out any book that looked the slightest bit interesting and by the end of the week it was finished and I returned it back. It was the time for another stack.
Nowadays, I am still passionate about reading in a wide range of topics such as; science, fiction, metaphysics, philosophy, and psychology. Although I think the development of technology should be restricted because of its negative effects in our life, I feel that combining books and technology makes for the best of both worlds. This is why I love ebooks and e-readers.
I have started this website to share with others all I learnt and learn about the combination of book and technology such as; ebooks, e-readers, kindles and ebook reader software. You are most welcome to leave your ideas and useful information.
All The Best
Dr. Abe Stanley
Turning off the Kindle completely (holding the power botutn for at least 10 seconds) wastes battery power. Unless you are not planning on using the kindle for along time and you want to store it, its better to just power down into energy saver mode. +2Was this answer helpful?
This is such a great resource that you are prividong and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of prividong a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!
You are welcome Amon and thanks for the comment.
I got a kdlnie when the kdlnie 2 first came out I’d ordered the original at Christmas week, and within a month, Amazon announced the Kindle 2 was being sent out in place of the original. I ended up getting mine at the end of February 2009 (2 mos after I ordered!). I absolutely *love* my kdlnie. I am completely spoiled having the ability to have a book (or hundreds) at my fingertips no matter where I am I always have my kdlnie with me. I haven’t even read a paper book since I got it. It’s just nice knowing I am not using paper/ink/shipping etc for reading. I have the kdlnie PC loaded to my computer so if I want (haven’t yet) I can read on my computer too.I fall asleep with my kdlnie all the time too side sleeper here and my husband will periodically turn the light off for me.. I’ll wake up a while later and put it on the table. I’ve never before fallen asleep while reading, but since my kdlnie, I read so much at night, I do, ha.Also, i’ve never been much to read out loud to my kids I have a hard time with it because I start yawning obsessively.. since having my kdlnie, my boys and I read every night at bedtime and it’s been great! We are currently reading a series called Fablehaven. My kdlnie has been worth every penny spent, both on it and on books. I am like you though, I stay under about $7.00 or so, unless I’ve been reading the series, then I may splurge on one book for closer to $9.. Enjoy!
